International call for Durham trio

Fresh of the back of his naming as Durham CCCs player of the year for 2012 Durham seam bowler Graham Onions was named in the England Test squad for their tour of India this November.
Durham’s young all-rounder’s Scott Borthwick and Ben Stokes will also be travelling to India this winter as part of the England Performance Programme Squad.

The England Test squad travels to India on October 25th for a series of tour warm up fixtures ahead of a four test series. After a long injury lay-off Graham returned to the England test fold this summer playing against the West Indies at Edgbaston. Now part of the squad for the winter tour Graham will be looking to add to his nine test caps.

Graham will be joined in the squad by uncapped due Joe Root from Yorkshire and Nick Compton of Somerset.

Scott Borthwick (Durham CCC Young Player of the year 2012) and his fellow all-rounder Ben Stokes will join up with the England Performance Programme for their pre Christmas training programme in Loughborough and then on to India. Both players capped in International limited over cricket will then look to be selected for the England Lions tour of Australia in the new year.
