Durham lost the toss with the visitors electing to bat first and they took advantage of good batting conditions at Darlington.
Just two wickets fell on a tough first day for the Durham bowlers as Leicestershire piled on the runs.
Both openers were the wickets to fall with Turner (4) bowled by Brathwaite and Robson (57) trapped lbw by Forster.
Number three Wells was the main destroyer against the Durham attack as he made his way to 132 no alongside Bosh 28 no at the end of Day 1 with the visitors 235-2.
After a long, tough day with the ball on Day 1, the Durham attack had a more promising morning on day two with 5 wickets.
Max Morley grabbed two and Jamie Harrison and Usman Arshad one a piece as Leicestershire declared 388-7 with Wells top scoring on 148.
Foster and Morley were the dual wicket takers for Durham and the pair who did the majority of the workload bowling 51 overs between them.
Durham then went in to bat with a task on their hands after a good batting display by their opponents. Despite opener Jamie Clark’s half century the Durham batting order struggled to settle at the crease and match Leicestershire’s first innings.
Paul Coughlin’s 37 was the next best as Leicestershire’s Sayers took 5 wickets to rip through the Durham line-up and leave them all out for 230, 158 runs behind.
The follow on was enforced and Durham had a bit of work to do to ensure an innings defeat was not on the cards.
Openers Jennings (19) and Clark (10) went early but number three Singh ensured some resistance with 39 before he too found himself back in the changerooms.
Durham needed someone to keep them in the match and Stuart Poynter was the man to do this.
He made his way to a superb century, ensuring a Durham lead with Coughlin (56) who too was hitting them nicely.
Durham lost their way in the final stages of Day 3 however as Leicestershire claimed the wickets of Poynter (100), Coughlin (56), Parker (28) and Brathwaite but Ireland (36no) and Foster (6no) hung on as Durham batted out the match to be 318-8 at stumps and ensured a drawn match was the result.
