Championship there for the Taking

Durham will play their biggest match of the season this week when they take on Nottinghamshire at Emirates Durham ICG starting Tuesday.

After another incredible victory over Derbyshire this week-end, in a match which appeared destined for a draw, Durham extended their lead at the top of the Championship table to 27.5 points.

With just two matches to play, a win against Nottinghamshire this week will hand them the 2013 LV=County Championship before they play their final match against Sussex at Hove next week.

Durham’s rivals for the Championship title, Yorkshire sit 27.5 points behind them and play Middlesex at home and Surrey (away) in their final two matches.

There is just the one change to the Durham squad which defeated Derbyshire by 9 wickets with all-rounder Ben Stokes included in the squad and will travel back to Durham tomorrow after finishing his duties with England in the final ODI tonight.

Durham fans are encouraged to come down to the ground and show their support to the team in their final appearance at home for the season.

Note that the match will start at 10.15am each day to allow the game to finish an hour early on Friday to let Nottinghamshire travel to London for the Yorkshire Bank 40 final on Saturday.
