Durham CCC secures new beer sponsorship

The sponsorship deal will see Aussie lager Foster’s become the club’s new County Championship shirt sponsor.

Heineken’s beers and ciders, which include Foster’s, Heineken, Strongbow and Bulmers, will also be available for fans to enjoy at the Emirates Riverside from the start of the 2016 season.

Foster’s will work with Durham County Cricket Club to deliver exciting activities for adult fans, particularly before, during and after T20 fixtures.

Speaking at the announcement, Durham captain Paul Collingwood MBE said: “This is certainly one of the most popular sponsorship deals we have ever had, and it has gone down extremely well with the players.

“We hope to have plenty of reasons to celebrate with Foster’s at the end of the season.”

David Harker, chief executive at Durham County Cricket Club, added: “Heineken has committed to work with us in a pro-active way, particularly on matchdays, where they will help to provide a much greater experience for our fans.

“With Foster’s being extremely popular in the North-East, it also means there are over 1,000 pubs and clubs where we can promote our events and club activity in conjunction with Foster’s.”

Chris Jowsey, Heineken’s sales director, said: “We’re really excited about the new, five-year partnership with Durham County Cricket Club.
