13-man squad for crunch Lightning clash

Jon Lewis has added Ireland wicketkeeper Stuart Poynter to a 13-man squad for tonight’s NatWest T20 Blast clash against the Lancashire Lightning.

The 25-year-old could be in line for a T20 debut for the Jets after returning from national duty during the week.

Poynter kept wicket for all four matches against Afghanistan and took six catches across the series, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Jets are without England duo Ben Stokes and Mark Wood. The former is playing in the Second Investec Test against Pakistan, while Wood has not been released from Lions duty.

With the race for qualification heating up, the Jets cannot afford to stumble at home in their final two games.

And despite being bottom of the North Group, the Lightning are current holders and remain a dangerous proposition.

Gates open at 4:30pm at Emirates Riverside with the game starting at 6:30pm.
