How can the Durham Jets qualify?

Tonight is Judgement Night as the Durham Jets go in search of a quarter-final and keep their NatWest T20 Blast title hopes alive.

Though the Jets currently lie in sixth place with a game to go, a win against the fifth-placed Derbyshire Falcons could put them in an excellent position.

The Falcons are on the same points and have their own qualification aspirations, ahead by virtue of having a better net-run-rate.

We are both 12 points, with the Birmingham Bears one point ahead and the Yorkshire Vikings a point further in third place.

So how can the Jets qualify?

Our best chance of reaching the top four is by overcoming the Falcons and hoping the Lancashire Lightning beat the Bears at Emirates Old Trafford.

We could also overtake the Vikings should they lose to the Northants Steelbacks, though it would require a huge swing on net-run-rate.

If the Bears’ game in Manchester is tied or rained off, we would need to win and eclipse their net-run-rate to advance.

If both Birmingham and Yorkshire win we cannot reach the knockout stages, and a tied/rained off game would also dash our hopes as Derbyshire would finish ahead of us on net-run-rate.

In short, only a win will be enough tonight – help be the difference and roar the Jets home.

Tickets are available on the gate for this evening, priced at £20 for adults and £5 for juniors.
