All-rounder Adam Hickey could make his T20 debut for Durham in tonight’s crunch NatWest T20 Blast encounter with the Derbyshire Falcons (6:30pm start).
Hickey featured for the First XI in the Specsavers County Championship victory against Lancashire, scoring a vital 21* in a successful chase of 247.
The left-hander opens the batting in all formats for the Second XI and offers another all-round option Jon Lewis has to call upon ahead of the must-win match.
Paul Collingwood will continue to captain the side after extending his contract during the week while Gordon Muchall could feature in his final T20 for Durham.
The 33-year-old has amassed nearly 2,000 runs in the format and is set to retire at the end of the season to take up a full-time teaching role.
Durham need to overcome the Falcons and hope other results go their way to qualify.
