Under-17s reach ECB Cup final

Durham under-17s have reached the final of the ECB Cup after winning their semi-final against Nottinghamshire last Sunday.

They will play either Surrey or Somerset in the final after a convincing seven-wicket win over Notts at Welbeck.

The final is due to take place on Sunday, 21 August at Kibworth CC.

In the semi-final at Welbeck, Durham took less than 40 overs to knock off the 176 required for victory.

Both openers fell early in the reply but captain Tom Hewison steadied the ship with 41.

Academy duo Liam Trevaskis and Scott Steel then finished the innings with respective half centuries, the latter off just 47 balls.

Notts were restricted to 175/9 after four bowlers took four wickets each, Trevaskis returning figures of 2/32.
