Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes has been included in the prestigious ICC Test Team of the Year.
The 25-year-old is selected for the first time as part of the best XI, chosen by three former Test cricketers on behalf of cricket’s governing body.
Rahul Dravid, Gary Kirsten and Kumar Sangakkara chose the side based on performances from 14 September 2015 – 20 September 2016.
A total of four Englishmen are named, with Alastair Cook selected as captain.
Stokes played nine Test matches during the period, top-scoring with a record-busting 258 against South Africa in January.
