India tour: A disappointing conclusion

So it didn’t quite go to plan for England in India, did it?

Despite a succession of promising performances, individually and collectively, the tour ended in another series defeat as the hosts crushed England in Bangalore.

The loss of eight wickets for as many runs in 18 balls, the second-worst eight-wicket collapse in T20 history, ensured Eoin Morgan’s side ended the tour on a very sour note.

We’re not expecting either side to capitulate in September’s encounter with the West Indies to be such a drab affair, however.

There is too much at stake for such monumental collapses.

For England, it is the chance to overturn last year’s ICC World T20 final result and get one back on the West Indies.

The visitors want to cement their status as the big-hitting, conquering side in world T20 cricket.

But can they reproduce such a performance in September this far north?

Just four tickets remain in the ever-popular Don Robson Pavilion with the adjacent North West Terrace also selling quickly.
