Wood & Jennings made available for Durham

England stars Mark Wood & Keaton Jennings have been made available for Durham’s opening fixtures of the 2017 season.

Both players are set to feature in the first game of the season against Nottinghamshire, who also have their England Test stars available.

Wood, who signed a new deal with Durham last year, is on a central contract with England while Jennings made his breakthrough at Test level in breathtaking fashion before Christmas.

The pair have been playing in the North-South series in the UAE, with Jennings captaining the North side.

It capped off an extremely busy winter for the opening batsmen after he also captained England’s Lions on their tour of Sri Lanka following the conclusion of the Test series against India.

His availability will also see him play in the Royal London One-Day Cup side after being appointed as captain earlier this year.

Wood took two wickets in as many matches in the North-South series, his first competitive game time since undergoing a third ankle operation at the end of last season.

The club are encouraging members to use their free guest pass for the first day of the opening Specsavers County Championship fixture against Nottinghamshire on Good Friday (14 April).
