Cook eyeing big runs during Durham stint

South Africa batsman Stephen Cook has spoken to Durham TV for the first time after landing at Emirates Riverside.

Cook arrived just in time to see his new team mates take the final wickets in the Durham MCCU friendly early on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after the victory, the right-handed opener spoke to the club’s official channel about living a lifelong dream by playing county cricket, scoring runs at the top of the order and creating a winning feeling around the dressing room.

The 34-year-old, who has amassed nearly 14,000 first-class runs to date, is available for the season-opener with Nottinghamshire on Good Friday.
