Thirteen named for Royal London opener

Durham head coach Jon Lewis has named a 13-man squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup opener with Derbyshire at Emirates Riverside.

Keaton Jennings will lead the One-Day side after being named as captain during the off-season.

All-rounder James Weighell & Ireland bowler Barry McCarthy could make their first appearances of the season after being included in the squad.

Overseas signing Stephen Cook looks set to open the batting with Jennings but fellow batsman Jack Burnham is missing with a broken thumb.

Also missing is England star Mark Wood, who picked up a slight groin injury during the Specsavers County Championship draw with Gloucestershire.

Fitness pending he is available for two more fixtures, away matches at Warwickshire & Yorkshire, before linking up with England for the Royal London ODI series against Ireland.

Ryan Pringle could feature against the side he smashed 125 against last year in a losing cause, one of the defeats that cost Durham a place in the quarter-finals by virtue of net-run-rate.

Tickets are available on the gate at the ground tomorrow priced at £15 adults & juniors, with the game set to commence at 11:00am.
