Twelve named for Leicestershire @ South North

Durham are aiming to make it three wins from three at South Northumberland CC as Leicestershire visit in the Royal London One-Day Cup tomorrow (11am start).

After two previous victories against Warwickshire in 2014 & 2016, Jon Lewis’ side are aiming to get back on track in Gosforth after yesterday’s defeat to the Yorkshire Vikings.

Despite defeat by six wickets, centuries from Stephen Cook & Michael Richardson ensured all of the top three have scored hundreds in the opening three matches of the 2017 campaign.

Keaton Jennings (290) leads the run-scoring charts, backing up his ton at Edgbaston with two half-centuries, and the top three have already accumulated a whopping 706 runs between them in nine innings.

Richardson has benefitted and averages 232, having been dismissed only once – he reached three figures off the final ball of the innings against the Vikings.

With one win, one no result & one defeat on the board equating to one point in the North Group standings, victory over Leicestershire would keep up hopes of advancing to the knockout stages.

George Harding, the left-arm spinner who debuted at Headingley, is included once again alongside James Weighell, who has taken eight wickets in his first two List A matches.

Play is due to start at 11am & tickets are available on the gate at South North priced at £15 adults & £5 juniors.
