World class cricket for a fiver at Emirates Riverside!

Durham County Cricket Club is offering £5 entry after 5pm for the historic Specsavers County Championship clash with Worcestershire (26-29 June).

The ‘Fiver after Five’ promotion marks the first floodlit Championship fixture ever to take place at Emirates Riverside with England stars Ben Stokes & Mark Wood both set to feature.

Using a pink ball to aid visibility, Durham will be playing in their third such match after facing the MCC under floodlights in the 2010 & 2014 champion county matches.

It is the first time a full round of floodlit four day fixtures has taken place in England ahead of the national side’s Test match against West Indies later in the summer.

New Zealand international Tom Latham is expected to make his Durham debut during the match while internationals Moeen Ali & John Hastings are likely to play for the visitors.

The match is due to begin at 2pm & finish at 9pm, with the breaks coming between 4-4:40pm & 6:40-7pm.

The first floodlit Test match came between Australia & New Zealand in 2015 and there have since been three more, with Australia winning all three they have played in.

Current Durham opener Stephen Cook was the first South African batsman to face the pink ball for his country. The right-hander is still the only player to have scored a century in the third innings of a day-night Test, notching 104 against Australia in the same match.
