Jennings available for two days vs Worcs

Opening batsman Keaton Jennings will be available for the first two days of Durham’s Specsavers County Championship match against Worcestershire next week.

The left-hander has been selected for England Lions’ match against South Africa at Worcestershire starting on Thursday, 29 June.

As a conseqeunce, Jennings is available for two days in the maiden first-class floodlit match at Emirates Riverside before joining up with the Lions on Wednesday.

Worcestershire’s Joe Clarke will also play the first two days only after being selected for the Lions, who will be captained by Gary Ballance at New Road.

Both sides will be permitted a fully participating substitue for days three & four of the fixture.

Jennings is added to an already star-studded line-up for the first round of pink ball fixtures in the County Championship’s 127-year history.

Ben Stokes & Mark Wood have been made available to appear for the hosts while New Zealand international Tom Latham is expected to debut.

For the visitors, England international Moeen Ali is likely to feature alongside ex-Durham all-rounder & Australia international John Hastings.

To mark the occassion the club are offering a ‘Fiver after Five’ ticket on the gate, with entry to the ground after five o’clock just £5.

The match is due to start at 2pm & will close at 9pm, though play can go until 10pm should any overs be lost throughout the day.
