Seconds begin T20s with two victories

Match One Scorecard & Match Two Scorecard

Neil Killeen’s Second XI began their T20 campaign with a pair of wins over Worcestershire at Burnopfield CC.

Victory by nine & seven wickets respectively exemplified excellent all-round performances as they go in search of another Finals Day appearance.

The stand out showings came from Usman Arshad, Adam Hickey & Liam Trevaskis, while Graham Onions successfully completed two four-over spells.

In Match One, the visitors were restricted to 150/6 after the 17th over, bowled by Arshad, yielded three wickets to stifle their momentum.

George Harding also took two wickets, including top-scorer Alex Hepburn, while Hickey removed Tom Fell, who is set to step in during Day Three of the ongoing Specsavers County Championship match at Emirates Riverside.

An 103-run opening stand in 11 overs between Trevaskis & Hickey set Durham well on their way before the former fell for 52.

But Hickey continued some excellent ball-striking to finish on 77 off 46 balls with 8x4s & 4x6s.

In Match Two, the visitors again batted first but could only muster 114 all out as Trevaskis’ left-arm spin yielded figures of 4/22, with every bowler taking a wicket.

The runs were shared around in reply with Hickey (23), Richardson (23*), Harte (25) & Carse (26*) seeing it home with nearly seven overs in the bank.
