Win & defeat in T20s vs Leicestershire

Match One scorecard & Match Two scorecard

Neil Killeen’s Second XI won one & lost one of the T20 fixtures against Leicestershire at Emirates Riverside.

After suffering defeat in the first match, they recovered to win the second & keep alive their hopes of reaching Finals Day.

Usman Arshad smashed 69, including five sixes, as the Seconds posted 199/5 to win by 32 runs after losing the first match by 42 runs.

The all-rounder was well-supported by openers Ross Greenwell (39) & Liam Trevaskis (37) in a stand of 51 for the first wicket. Trevaskis, who made his first XI debut against Nottinghamshire, hit seven fours in his 22-ball knock.

Leicestershire threatened to come close through an 81-run stand between Ned Eckersley & Aadil Ali, who both made fifties, but a flurry of four wickets in the 15th & 16th over ensured Durham were firmly in control.

Trevaskis was the pick of the bowlers with 3/17.

In the first game, Killeen’s men were bowled out one ball shy of their allocation of overs after chasing 180/6.

Harry Deardon top-scored for Leicestershire with 53 while Arshad took two wickets.

Gareth Harte (43) & Brydon Carse (34) added 67 after three early wickets but both fell in quick succession & the innings petered out.
