Introducing Women & Girls Academy

Former Durham player James Lowe is heading up a new Durham Woman & Girls Academy to help advance the games of girls in the region.

The side were established earlier this year as an important milestone in the Club’s attempts to provide opportunities for girls in cricket.

While the England national side enjoyed considerable success in this year’s Women’s World Cup, raising the profile of the game to new levels, Lowe & his team have been working hard behind-the-scenes at Durham in the creation of the Academy.

It has seen the most talented individuals from across Durham, Cumbria & Northumberland come together to test themselves against other county boards around the UK.

In the above video Lowe talks through the make-up of the Academy, the importance of opportunities for women & girls in cricket & what’s next for the side.
