Two changes ahead of Kent clash

Durham head coach Jon Lewis has named two changes for his latest squad ahead of the Specsavers County Championship match against Kent at Emirates Riverside (10:30am start).

Last week’s victory over Derbyshire made it six unbeaten for Lewis’s men heading into the final month of the season.

That unbeaten run started at Canterbury back in June, where Durham fell just one wicket shy of victory on the final day.

Durham start with Kent’s visit this week before hosting Sussex & travelling to Worcestershire, meaning they can still very much shape the race for promotion with all three sides still in the hunt.

Lewis welcomes Mark Wood back into the squad following a successful pair of outings for the Seconds against Scotland ‘A’ last week. Wood’s last outing for Durham yielded a five-wicket haul in the floodlit game against Worcestershire in June.

The 27-year-old replaces Paul Coughlin in the squad, who left the field during Derbyshire’s first innings with a side injury.

The other change sees Usman Arshad, who scored a match-winning 66 not out in the second 2nd XI game last week, replace Matthew Potts.

Graham Onions is again included & is eyeing up Simon Brown’s first-class wicket record for Durham, requiring just eight more to overtake Brown’s current record of 518.

We would like to remind supporters that all days of the remaining fixtures will begin at 10:30am.

Squad vs Kent (5-8 September): Paul Collingwood (c), Keaton Jennings, Tom Latham, Cameron Steel, Jack Burnham, Graham Clark, Michael Richardson (wk), Ryan Pringle, James Weighell, Usman Arshad, Mark Wood, Chris Rushworth, Graham Onions
