Eden Mill Player of the Month: August

The polls have opened for the Eden Mill Player of the Month award for August with four players vying for the award!

Paul Collingwood has scooped all three awards to date but faces stiff competition from three teammates this month!

Watch the video of some of their best bits, read our highlights below & use the Twitter poll at the bottom to vote for your Eden Mill Player of the Month.

Cameron Steel

Steel became the Club’s youngest double centurion against Leicestershire, scoring 224 in the Specsavers County Championship clash at Grace Road. The mammoth knock included 28x4s & spanned 501 minutes at the crease, & was also the fifth-highest first-class score in our history.

He backed it up with 72 in the win over Derbyshire & also took two wickets, including the pivotal one of Wayne Madsen.

Tom Latham

Latham overcame a frustrating wait for his debut by first making the highest score in Seconds history & followed it up with a century on first-class debut against Leicestershire, bringing up his ton with a big six over the leg side.

The New Zealand international also scored a T20 half-century against Worcestershire Rapids & made a notable difference at the top of the Jets’ order, finishing with 139 runs from five matches.

Paul Collingwood

The four-day skipper started the month with an unbeaten 88 against Yorkshire Vikings in the NatWest T20 Blast & finished it by making his highest Specsavers County Championship score at Emirates Riverside, 177 against Derbyshire.

Both scores were vital contributions in winning causes, the former a thrilling one-run victory.

Stuart Poynter

Wicketkeeper Poynter made a number of lower-order contributions at the end of the NatWest T20 Blast campaign, averaging 112 across the final four completed matches.

The Irish international impressed in front of the Sky Sports cameras against Derbyshire Falcons, scoring a maiden T20 half century in making 61 not out including 4x4s & 4x6s.

Voting closes on the below Twitter poll at 5pm on Wednesday, 6 September!
