Next week’s scheduled friendly against Yorkshire at Emirates Riverside has been cancelled.
Due to the severe bouts of inclement weather earlier this month, the ground remains unfit for cricket.
And with more wet weather forecast over the coming days, groundsman Vic Demain has indicated the ground will not be ready in time.
Demain & his team will now work towards preparing the ground in time for the three-day fixture against Durham MCCU starting on Friday, 13 April.
Durham’s pre-season has been severely affected by the weather thus far, with the Cambridge MCCU friendly at Fenner’s completely called off.
The first day of the two-day friendly against Middlesex at Merchant Taylors’ was also cancelled today, with prospects for play looking unlikely tomorrow.
The first competitive fixture of the season begins on Friday, 20 April at home against Kent.
