Durham’s Irish international duo Barry McCarthy & Stuart Poynter both featured in their four T20I matches against Scotland & the Netherlands last week.
McCarthy took six wickets across all four matches, played against the hosts in Rotteredam & the Scots in Deventer, with Poynter also featuring as wicketkeeper in the fixtures.
The series started with a double defeat to the Netherlands, before a 46-run victory & dramatic tie against Scotland.
McCarthy’s best return came during the first match, taking 3/26 in a narrow four-run defeat, before managing a wicket apiece in Ireland’s last three matches.
Poynter batted down the order, scoring seven in the first match, but he only managed to face a further five balls across the remaining games.
Ireland now turn their attentions towards a double showdown against India in Malahide next Wednesday & Friday (27 & 29 June).
