Durham Cricket Board’s new women’s competition Super 4s is going ahead this Sunday July 8th at Emirates Riverside.
The competition will feature some of the best female cricketers in the North of the country, who will showcase the highest level of women’s grassroots cricket the region has to offer.
The Super 4s was initially announced in May ahead of a scheduled first and second round at Norton Cricket Club, which were cancelled following wet weather conditions. Due to the cancelation, the competition day on Sunday July 8th will see two semi-finals played, followed by the final.
The competition is the first non-club-based competition in the North and aims to link up and further strengthen the existing women’s structure.
In its debut year, four teams – Hawks, Rockets, Panthers and Infernos, made up from some of the best female cricketers in the region will compete for the Super 4s title.
Spectators are welcome to attend and support the female game this Sunday at Emirates Riverside. The two semi-finals: Rockets vs Panthers and Infernos vs Hawks, will start at 10.30am, with the final scheduled for 1.30pm.
