Vitality Blast action returns to Emirates Riverside tomorrow night (July 20) when the Durham Jets face the Worcestershire Rapids and another bumper crowd is expected.
Last week’s disappointing result against the Yorkshire Vikings – in front of a record 8000 crowd at Chester-le-Street – has failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the Durham Jets supporters, with another high attendance expected on Friday following two outstanding victories on the road against the Birmingham Bears and Notts Outlaws.
Tickets are still available for the fixture, which includes the club’s kids-go-free ticket promotion that has already been snapped up by over a thousand juniors, meaning another vibrant crowd is expected.
The club’s new Liontrust Family Zone was launched last Friday (July 13) and the various activities, including a brand new catching zone, batting simulator, speed cage, face painter, proved a massive success among all ages.
Durham County Cricket Club, Head of Marketing, David Jackson, said: “We were delighted with the record gate that we achieved for our opening Vitality Blast fixture and we are confident we can continue to build on what was a positive start to the T20 campaign.
“We decided to make this fixture against the Rapids kids-go-free because it’s a great way for the children to celebrate the end of the school term and experience, what we believe, is one of the best family nights out in the north east.
“We can’t wait to see the youngsters getting involved with the family zone, collecting their freebies and enjoying some exhilarating cricket action.”
