Nathan Sowter

Nathan Sowter had another sterling Vitality Blast Campaign, helping Durham to its first T20 quarter-final since 2018.

Sowter followed up on a record-breaking 2023 T20 Blast campaign with an impressive 2024 season.

The 32-year-old was Durham’s second-highest wicket-taker in 2024, taking 19 wickets in the Blast at an impressive economy rate of 6.48 at an average of 16.73.

Sowter’s best figures came in Durham’s sevenwicket win over Leicestershire at the Uptonsteel County Ground.

The ex-Middlesex man produced two beauties in three deliveries to bowl Wiaan Mulder and new man Ben Mike without scoring on his way to collecting figures of 3/23 against The Foxes.

The 2024 campaign also saw Sowter pass 50 T20 wickets for Durham and surpass 150 career wickets in the format.

The Australian-born bowler’s record-breaking 2023 campaign saw him collect 24 wickets, his highest tally in the Blast and the most significant number of wickets taken by a Durham player in a T20 season, earning him a two-year contract extension ahead of 2024.
