Durham Jets head coach Jon Lewis has named an unchanged squad for tomorrow night’s final Vitality Blast North Group fixture against Derbyshire Falcons (6:30pm start).
The same 14-man squad will go in search of victory to round off the group stages before heading into a home quarter-final next week.
Birmingham Bears’ win over Lancashire Lightning last night confirmed a home QF for the Jets but the final place in the standings is yet to be confirmed.
A win tomorrow night would see Lewis’s side through in first position, with a quarter-final against the fourth placed team in the South Group. Should Worcestershire Rapids win their final match at Birmingham, the Jets would need to win in order to finish top.
Axar Patel & Alex Lees joined up with their new team mates this week ahead of the Specsavers County Championship match at Glamorgan, but neither are eligible to play in Vitality Blast.
Tickets remain available for tomorrow’s match at £15 adults & £5 juniors in advance (up until midnight tonight). On-the-day prices are £20 adults & £5 juniors.
Squad vs Derbyshire Falcons (17 August)
Last Time Out
Durham Jets managed to take it deep into the final over but Derbyshire Falcons ran out winners by three wickets in front of the Sky cameras at the 3aaa County Ground.
After electing to bat first, Durham dropped to 22/3 & then 42/4 after struggling out of the blocks.
But Stuart Poynter rescued the innings with a career-best 61 off just 32 balls, including four boundaries & four maximums, in a partnership of 38 with Jack Burnham before adding 41 in three overs with Ryan Pringle.
Luis Reece underpinned the Falcons’ innings with 66 & despite late wickets for captain Paul Coughlin, who finished with 4/22, the late pressure wasn’t enough to drag the game back.
