Durham’s professional squad were put through their paces in a team building trip to Cumbria last week.
The players went through a series of outdoor activities across three days designed to push their physical & mental limits.
Organised by Discover Edventure, the focus of the trip was also to encourage teamwork, leadership & togetherness among the group.
Joined by coaches Neil Killeen, Alan Walker & Sam Clark as well as Director of Cricket Marcus North, the squad were greeted on arrival at the base of Scafell Pike & proceeded to climb England’s highest peak at around 3,210 feet.
Day Two saw the some of the squad face lifelong fears of heights in an abseiling challenge before a series of group canoeing challenges & games in the afternoon.
An early rise on the third & final day led to a group walk around the streets of Keswick, allowing the squad to reflect on the challenges & learnings from the previous two days.
The squad’s pre-season regime brings them back to the North East this week as cricket skills begin to get incorporated ahead of the new season beginning in April.
