Durham & England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been named in the ICC’s ODI Team of the Year for the second successive season.
Stokes is one of four Englishmen named in the XI, the most named in a Team of the Year since the first selections were made in 2004.
Over the course of 13 matches in 2018, the 27-year-old has cemented his status as the world’s leading all-rounder in ODI cricket, averaging over 44 with the bat.
He racked up 313 runs in 10 innings’, scoring three half-centuries with a best of 67 in the fifth ODI against Sri Lanka in October, adding to fifties against New Zealand & India.
The former came in a man-of-the-match performance, leading England to victory in Mount Maunganui with an unbeaten 63 after taking 2/42 in the hosts’ innings.
