Michael Richardson leaves Durham Cricket after 10 years

Durham Cricket batsman Michael Richardson has left the club after 10 years.

Richardson made 103 First Class appearances for Durham and scored six hundreds and 26 half-centuries.

The wicket-keeper batsman was part of the Durham side that won the 2013 County Championship and more recently established himself as a gifted white-ball player, averaging 56.69 in 31 List A fixtures as well as helping Durham to T20 Finals Day in 2016.

“I would like to pay tribute to all my team mates, the Durham members, supporters and a staff for what has been a very special period in my life,” Richardson said.

Durham Cricket, Director of Cricket, Marcus North, added: “Following a mid season review, it was decided that Michael would not be offered an extension to his contract and has since left the Club to pursue other opportunities.”

“Michael has been a great servant for Durham and we wish to place on record our thanks for his dedication for the past 10 years and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
