Derby day is here, as Durham Cricket take on Yorkshire Vikings on Friday evening in the T20 Vitality Blast, starting at 6:30pm and the biggest ever Durham crowd is expected.
Friday’s fixture will be see a bumper crowd turn up at Emirates Riverside, as fans flock to Chester le Street for Durham’s biggest T20 of the summer – Derby Day, which is also Chris Rushworth’s testimonial match.
Durham still have every chance of making the quarter finals, sitting in 5th place, two points behind Worcestershire Rapids in second and a win on Friday night, will keep Durham in the hunt for a place in the last eight, making Friday’s fixture crucial as the tournament reaches its climax.

D’Arcy Short and Scott Steel have been in fantastic form opening the batting for the Ds and it will be more of the same on Friday night, when the Tykes visit Durham. Short’s fine batting has seen him top the PCA MVP rankings having smashed 368 runs so far in the Blast.
There will be a number of events across the evening to commemorate Chris Rushworth’s testimonial season, so keep your eyes peeled around the ground.
Durham’s Liontrust Family Zone will also be in full swing from 4:30pm, offering a range of activities including, fielding and bowling cages plus the batting simulator.
While down watching Durham against the Vikings, why not grab a cold beer, sitting in the sun watching the D’s in action, there isn’t anything better than having a cold pint while watching Durham on home soil.
Kids will also have their chance to meet and greet with the Durham squad on conclusion of the fixture, so make sure your children and grandchildren have their autographs and cameras at the ready.
