Emirates Riverside breaks attendance record for derby day fixture

A record crowd came to Emirates Riverside this evening as Durham Cricket took on Yorkshire Vikings in the T20 Vitality Blast.

Over 9000 fans came along to Chester le Street for a Friday night of cricket with the Don Robson pavilion full of friends and families alike.

The Northern Terrace stand was also well occupied as fans flocked top and bottom to see the D’s in action.

Tonight’s record crowd of 9130 surpasses any previous attendances here in Chester le Street, and with tonight’s fixture being derby day fans from far and wide came along to see Durham play.

Durham next face Birmingham Bears on Tuesday evening at Emirates Riverside which gets underway at 6:30pm, and we look forward to seeing you all again next week.
