Durham Cricket update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the ongoing situation with regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Durham Cricket have made the decision to close Emirates Riverside to the public and all non-essential staff.

This decision will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and in line with Government and ECB advice.

Durham Cricket Chief Executive, Tim Bostock, said “Throughout this ongoing situation the Senior Leadership team at the club have been meeting on a daily basis and reviewing our operational practices in line with Government advice.

“All decisions have been taken with the health and safety of our customers and staff in mind.

“Most staff have been working from home since last week and we have now taken the decision to close Emirates Riverside entirely to minimise any risks to staff and customers. This decision will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

“Where possible our staff are now working from home and we are available to deal with any enquiries via the email addresses provided below.”

Durham Cricket have offered the use of Emirates Riverside to the local council and NHS should it be of use as well as the support of their staff who may be of assistance.

With the Cricket season on hold all players have been given fitness programmes to follow from home so that they can remain in isolation.

The club are keen to remain engaged with fans of all ages and help to provide information, guidance and activities to support our community. We will be providing further details of this is the coming days but please follow our social media channels and website where some activities have already started.
