Wood named in 14 man squad for Blast opener v Lancashire

Lead High Performance Coach James Franklin has named a 14-man squad for Durham’s opening Vitality Blast game against Lancashire Lightning.

Durham kick off their Blast campaign tomorrow [Thursday 27 August], 2:30pm at Emirates Riverside, with Mark Wood named in the 14 after England’s test series against Pakistan came to an end.

Wood could make his first appearance for Durham this summer – having last featured in Durham’s washed out Royal London fixture against Yorkshire at Headingley in May 2019.

Thursday’s T20 will see Nathan Rimmington lead Durham out for the first time, since being named the clubs new T20 skipper, while David Bedingham and Sean Dickson are included in the squad and could make their white ball debuts.

Squad vs Lancashire Lightning (27 August)

Nathan Rimmington (Capt), David Bedingham, Graham Clark, Ben Raine, Scott Steel, Alex, Lees, Sean Dickson, Paul Coughlin, Liam Trevaskis, Stuart Poynter, Ned Eckersley, Matthew Potts, Mark Wood, Brydon Carse

Match Coverage

The Club’s match centre will be in operation for the fixture with live scorecards, statistics & video highlights as they happen. Along with a full multi-camera stream provided through the Durham Cricket website.

There will also be regular updates on Twitter, with a match report and post-match reaction on the website following the conclusion of each day.
