Keith Robson

The Durham Cricket Community is saddened at the sudden loss, on Sunday of Keith Robson, the Chairman of The North East Premier League.

Keith was involved with the League since it was founded in 2000. Initially he was a member of the Management Committee, and in 2008 he was appointed Chairman of the League. He was also the Chairman of Chester le Street Cricket Club devoting an enormous amount of energy to ensure a very high profile for both organisations. I remember he was immensely proud when the Club won the ECB National Club Championship.

He was an incredibly friendly and likeable person and his sense of humour, meant he could always bring his cheeky fun and a more humorous element to any occasion and he could always be reliable to lighten the mood in any situation.

The contribution Keith gave to grass roots cricket was considerable and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are focussed on the family, and on behalf of all the cricket clubs linked to the Durham Cricket Board, we extend our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences at this difficult time.
