Second fixtures confirmed for 2021 season

Durham’s schedule for the Second XI Championship and T20 competition has been confirmed ahead of the start of the 2021 season.

This year will see Second XI Championship games take place over four days rather than three. The T20 competition will be played as double headers throughout June with finals day being played on Thursday 24 June.

Durham 2XI will kick off their Championship campaign away to Essex at Billericay Cricket Club on Monday 12 April.

Their opening home four-day fixture will take place the following week at Gosforth’s, South Northumberland Cricket Club as Derbyshire are the visitors.

The regionalised Second XI T20 competition consists of 10 matches which begin on Thursday 3 June, as Durham visit Weetwood taking on Yorkshire, before rounding off the group stages at home to Lancashire.

Due to the change in structure, there will be no 50 over format for the Seconds this season.

Durham will close their Championship campaign away to Lancashire in Southport, with the game starting on 14 September.

A full list of 2XI fixtures can be found here.

A reminder these games will be played behind closed doors until further information is announced. Please can members and spectators not travel to any fixtures while these games are played with COVID restrictions.
