Walking Cricket at Peterlee Cricket Club – Free Sessions

Durham Cricket Foundation, in partnership with Peterlee Town Council and Wellbeing for Life, is running free Walking Cricket sessions at Peterlee Cricket and Social Club on Tuesday mornings.

The sessions start next Tuesday, 29th June and will be running for six weeks from 10am until 11am.

Walking cricket is an adaptation of the traditional game of cricket in which the game is played at walking pace, using a soft ball.

The sessions are open to participants of any ability and experience, with the format allowing everyone an equal chance at the game.

The project aims to create an accessible fitness and wellbeing opportunity for its participants, while aspiring to create friendships along the way.

These sessions are free of charge and all equipment is provided. Participants do not need to commit to the full six weeks and can join the programme on any Tuesday during the duration of the project.

Programme partners Wellbeing for Life will also be offering free mini health checks during the sessions for those cricketers who may be interested.

To sign up email sharon.pounder@peterlee.gov.uk or call 0191 5869957.
