Following the end of the Vitality Women’s T20 competition last week, the North East Warriors will play Yorkshire in the Hazell-Brunt Cup this weekend and next.
The new competition, named after two of the greatest women’s cricket players from Yorkshire and Durham, will see the Warriors and Yorkshire play a series of friendly fixtures to extend the season of the senior sides.
The Hazell-Brunt Cup is organised by the Northern Diamonds – one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women’s cricket representing Durham, Northumberland and Yorkshire – to ensure that senior players from the three counties can continue to play competitive cricket for longer while supporting the Diamonds’ structure.
The first weekend of friendly series will see the North East Warriors play two T20 games against Yorkshire at Harrogate Cricket Club.
The first game starts at 11am, followed by a 2.30pm start for the second fixture.
