Durham Cricket is thrilled to be hosting Chester-le-EATS this October as the producers of ChesterFest bring a special food festival to Seat Unique Riverside.
The free event, which will be held on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 of October will see more than 50 food stalls and vendors showcasing their wares, in a celebration of local food and drink produced in the North East.
After two years of COVID, the venue is delighted to bring the local community back together with many of the best food suppliers and vendors coming to the Riverside.
Durham Cricket Events Manager, Ythan Sale said: “We’ll have a blend of tasty street food, artisan local businesses and live music on the grounds of the Riverside, while you can roam both inside and outside and taste the very best of the region’s food.”
Following a successful ChesterFest in 2019 – a free community festival with live music, street cuisine, food stalls – Durham Cricket has been keen to add a dedicated food and drink festival to its calendar, and Chester-le-EATS ticks all the boxes.
“We can’t wait to see the people of the North East come out and have a good time with us.
“We are sure to see a lot of interest in the event and we are really looking forward to a fantastic foodie weekend.
“We have a wide variety of food and drink stalls both inside and outside and this is going to be a guaranteed fun weekend for all the family.”
As well as more than 40 food, drink and giftware stands inside the venue, there will be food vans outside, featuring cuisines from around the world for visitors to tuck into. Vegans and vegetarians will be catered for, too – as well as those with a sweet tooth.
Durham Cricket Club is not only renowned for putting on top-class sporting events, but its concerts – which this summer see Diana Ross and Michael Bublé – are always a huge hit.
“We are now looking at growing our events calendar with more family days out. Although we have some fantastic food and drink events in our region already, and we hope Chester-le-EATS will become a fantastic addition to these – and for many years to come,” added Ythan.
