England v India Pre Match spectator information

We’re delighted that international cricket returns to the North East this week and we look forward to welcoming you to Seat Unique Riverside for England v India Women; the first time England women have been in Chester le Street for 9 years.

We are set for a night of exciting cricket on and off the field with lots of fun around the concourse, therefore we recommend arriving early to soak up the fun ahead of England and India at 7pm.

 

GATES

 

Entry to the ground will be via Gates 2 & 5 and gates will open at 5pm.

 

 

Hospitality gates will also open at 5pm with access via Gate 1.

 

 

 

HOURS OF PLAY

 

The scheduled hours of play are as follows, but please listen for announcements of any adjustments to these timings on the day.

 

7.00pm start

8.15pm (approx) Interval between innings. (15 minutes)

9.45pm  Scheduled Close of Play

 

 

*30 minutes extra time is available should there be any weather interruptions

 

 

VENUE

 

 

Seat Unique Riverside is a cashless venue.

 

 

No alcohol or glass can be brought into the venue.  

 

 

CAR PARKING  

 

 

Parking is available in the council car parks outside the ground with payment via the pay and display machines or via your smartphone device.  If the car parks around the ground, get full there are additional public car parks in Chester-le-Street.  Please do not park in residents’ areas around the ground.

    

ENTERTAINMENT

 

 

To celebrate the return of women’s cricket Spice FM will be at Seat Unique Riverside from 5pm and will be broadcasting a live roadshow; plus live DJs and Bollywood Singer Armar Chotai will be in attendance. Bollywood & South Indian Classical Dancers will be performing in the lead up to the game.

 

Our popular Everyone Active Family Zone will also be up and running for kids of all ages to enjoy; think you can bowl as fast as Mark Wood or pull off some Ben Stokes catches? If so, we have you covered with lots of cricket fun and games.

 

 

GROUND/PITCH ACCESS

      

 

Access onto the Playing Surface/Pitch is not allowed at anytime during the match.

 

SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS

 

Please allow sufficient time for our staff to carry out our security procedures (including bag searches and “pat – down”checks).

 

 

 

You can also assist with the security operation by reporting any concerns-no matter how small-to the club’s stewards. Help stay secure by staying alert; if something doesn’t look right, tell a steward or text 07851183114 anonymously.

 

 

SHOP/RECEPTION/BOX OFFICE

 

Durham’s new Welcome Hub will be open throughout this fixture.

 

 

Fans will have the chance to browse all of Durham’s retail offering in our new club shop.

 

LEAVING THE GROUND

 

We ask that all members and other spectators leave the ground promptly at the conclusion of the match. Please follow the instructions from our stewards when doing so.

 

 

TRAVEL

 

 

WALKING There is a signposted pedestrian route from Chester-le-Street town centre and railway

centre (one mile away), which takes approximately 20 minutes.

 

 

CYCLING – Dedicated cycle racks are available free of charge at the ground. Stewards at the gate will

direct any cyclists wishing to use these on the day.

GETTING HERE BY BUS – Go North East run a number of dedicated services that run through Chester-le-Street and stop outside the ground. These services run through a number of the surrounding areas

including Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland. To plan your route & see bus times, visit

the Go North East website on www.gonortheast.co.uk.

 

GETTING HERE BY TRAIN –  Normal train services will run in and out of Chester-le-Street station on the day of the WIT20.  For times, please visit the National Rail website at www.nationalrail.co.uk. The walk from

the station to Seat Unique Riverside is approximately one mile and the route is well signposted.

 

 

FOOD AND DRINK

 

There are several catering units on site offering a range of food options. These will be positioned in various points around the ground.

 

On site we will be operating: Big Screen bar and Undercroft bar. The Sticky Wicket will be open.

 

There will be a facility open for Durham Cricket members and this will be based in the Castle View Suite.
