North East Warriors – Open Trials

The North East Warriors are inviting trial applications for the Senior Women’s and Under-18 Girls’ sides ahead of the 2023 season.

After a remarkable season in which the Under-18 side claimed bronze in the Royal London U18 Girls’ County Cup, the Warriors are glad to announce this year’s open trials.

The observations will take place in November over three Fridays: 4th, 11th and 18th November and welcome senior and under-18 players to apply, if they would like to be involved.

The senior side is looking for applications for senior players, aged 18 and over. To be eligible for the under-18 trials, players must be in year 13 and down.

The Warriors are a merged entity between Durham Cricket and Northumberland Cricket Board representing the two counties’ high-performance pathways for women and girls.

The Warriors feed into the ECB’s women’s pathway through working with the Northern Diamonds – a side that won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy this year.

The merged sides have had success within that pathway, having had both senior and junior players included in the Diamonds squad in 2022, with Under-18 Warrior Lizzie Scott impressing in the second part of the season and Senior Warrior Rachel Hopkins involved for a third year running.

Now, as we look ahead to 2023, the coaching team of the North East Warriors are looking for female cricketers, who would like to trial for the sides.

Trials – Senior Women

The Senior Women’s trials will take place on Friday 4th, Friday 11th and Friday 18th November from 7.00pm until 9.00pm at Seat Unique Riverside Indoor Cricket Centre. The sessions will primarily focus on core cricket skills and fitness.

We are looking for applications from players aged 18 and over. Under-18 players will be identified during the Under-18 trials.

Trials – Under-18 Girls

The Under-18 trials will take place on Friday 4th, Friday 11th and Friday 18th November from 5.00pm until 7.00pm at Seat Unique Riverside Indoor Cricket Centre. The sessions will primarily focus on core cricket skills and fitness.

To be eligible, participants must be in year 13 and down. If players have turned 18 currently, they can register for the Under-18 trials also.
