About the Project
Why are we doing this project
The proposal is to build a high quality, full service, branded hotel on the site at Durham County Cricket ground. There is a long-term undersupply of hotel rooms in the Durham area and this will help address the undersupply bringing local benefits and jobs. The project supports tourism, the business market and the ongoing sustainability of the club.
Who is the Developer
We, Durham Cricket CIC, are the developer. Following competitive exercises we have appointed the design team and, subject to planning, aim to appoint a main contractor to construct the building with opportunities for local and regional firms.
Timescales
We aim to submit a planning application in August.
Why are we asking for feedback
Our architects and engineers and specialists have produced design proposals. We hope you like the designs and welcome suggestions and feedback on the scheme at this early stage before we submit for planning.
