Durham’s up and coming cricketers will get a chance to play on the turf of Seat Unique Riverside this season, with over 10 days of county age group cricket being played in Chester le Street.
Teams from the boys’ and girls’ pathway will take to the field representing Durham Cricket throughout the summer, starting on Monday 1 May when the boys’ academy take on Yorkshire academy in a two-day fixture.
The 14th, 15th and 16th May Seat Unique Riverside will play host to junior cricket over three consecutive days as the boys under 13s, under 14s and under 15s are all in action.
The girls under 11s development sides will enjoy four T20s in June while the boys under 12 development sides will also entertain the Chester le Street ground in the same month.
The boys under 18s side will be in ECB Cup action in July, while the boys’ under 16s will host Lancashire in the ECB County Cup on Monday 22 July.
To round the summer off the girls under 18 North East Warriors side will host Nottinghamshire in the ECB Under 18s one-day cup.
John Windows, Academy Director, said: “It is a great opportunity for our junior cricketers to get the chance to play on the County Ground in Chester le Street, all of these players are aspiring to be professional cricketers, so it gives them that added excitement of playing on their home ground.
“They will all relish the opportunity and I am sure they will thoroughly enjoy the experience.”
