Durham Cricket are once again holding their annual Community Day during their Metro Bank One Day Cup game against Northamptonshire Steelbacks on Friday 2 August.
The game is once again designated as the Clubs annual Community Day game and will be a chance for everyone to come and experience a day out at the cricket with family and friends.
The day will celebrate the work the club and its partners are doing in the community and the community work which is being delivered every season from the cricket network in Durham – from volunteers in nearly 100 local clubs to projects delivered by Durham Cricket and its Foundation which is aiming to improve the physical and mental wellbeing and tackle social isolation for people aged 50+.
The match will also help raise funds and awareness for the Clubs Foundation who will have a number of fundraising initiatives taking place with exciting prizes to be won.
The Everyone Active Family Zone will be open for children to enjoy an array of games and a number of the clubs’ charitable partners and organisations will be in attendance.
Long-standing partner of Durham Foundation, The Great North Children’s Hospital will have a huge zone showcasing eleven of its departments with a pop up hospital, offering interactive games and activities throughout the day.
England Golf, the National Governing Body for amateur golf, will also be on-site and running a fun and inclusive activation, where attendees can have a go at golf in trying to hit a giant inflatable dartboard for a chance to top the leaderboard and win prizes!
The day will also incorporate the club’s annual Volunteer Recognition Day, celebrating the outstanding efforts on hundreds of volunteers supporting the grassroots game at cricket clubs across Durham every season.
Adult tickets are £10 with children tickets free with a paying adult.
