Durham boys’ under 14’s enjoy three victories at Taunton Cricket Festival as Louie Meek stars with a century and Jake Pattison takes a five wicket haul.
Durham began against Buckinghamshire, Oliver Jackson made 79 as John Windows’ scored 174. Four wickets from Harry Blythe and three from Harvey Lowe were enough to bring an opening victory by 18 runs.
Durham’s second fixture came against Norfolk; batting first the young Ds made 172 with Alfie Hodgkinson scoring a half-century. In response, Lowe took figures of 4-20 in 10 overs but Durham could not deny a Norfolk victory.
Pattison and Blythe evenly shared eight wickets as Durham dismissed King’s College for 171 before 44 from Jackson and Will Carr’s unbeaten 55 led Durham to a five-wicket victory.
Pattison went one better in the following fixture against King’s College as he took five wickets, bowling the hosts out for 195. Jackson made 50 and Bertie Morris 47* as Durham won by five wickets.
Meek ended the week at Taunton on a high as he reached a century against Gloucestershire, scoring 102 from 88 balls with 10 fours and three maximums. Durham took six wickets in response but could not deny Gloucestershire five wins from five.
