Durham boys’ under 16s 133/4 beat Cricket Scotland 131AO
Teddy Minto takes four wickets before runs from Thomas Briggs and Will Alexander take Durham boys’ under 16s to a six wicket victory over Cricket Scotland.
After choosing to bat first, Scotland put on 44 for the first wicket. Will Alexander struck in back-to-back overs, reducing the visitors to 55 for two.
Teddy Minto then claimed the next two, breaking up partnerships worth 22 and 26. Minto then took his third, bowling captain Olly Pillinger for Scotland’s highest score of 54.
This sparked a collapse, Durham taking the final five wickets for just eight runs. Charlie Burdon took three of those with Minto taking his fourth; Jim Twiddy brought the innings to a conclusion on 131.
Scotland took three early wickets, Rhett Hussey having Faizan Ghumman and Ross Abdy caught behind either side of Ram Sharma bowling Robbie Bowman.
Durham made it to 52 when Luke Symington was caught and bowled by Kenneth Keddie.
Alexander (45*) shared a fifth wicket stand of 81 with Thomas Briggs (36*) as the pair shared seven boundaries to take Durham to a six-wicket victory, maintaining Durham’s position at the top of group 1.
