Junior Development Programme

Durham Cricket Foundation’s development coursesare designed to support junior club cricketerslooking toimprove and develop as players through a comprehensiveprogramme of regular weeklysessions.

The focus will be onsharpeningplayers’ skills using fun and challenging practices and scenarios informed by the extensive experience of our professional coaching team.

During a weekly programme of four to five sessions (course dependent), players will work on areas of their game to help them improve their game and fast-track their development as players.

About the programme:

We are running the Programme for each age group from U9 through to U14, with regionalised courses for each age group, ensuring several opportunities to be involved.

As part of our commitment to create more accessible development opportunities, we have created this open programme to offer all junior club players opportunities to develop.

Parents and players can expect a low player-to-coach ratio, ensuring that every participant receives feedback and support throughout the course.

Participants will be exposed to challenging and innovative game-based scenarios which will encourage them to make quick decisions and adapt to situations, developing crucial game awareness

The courses also provide comprehensive training in technical skills with drills designed to develop players’ complete skillset.

About our coaches:

The Foundation’s team of professional coaches have experience in working with teams and players at every level – from beginners to county-level talent – which allows them to suit and adapt the sessions to different skills.

Our coaches have played a part in the earlier development of players like Matthew Potts, Ben McKinney, Ben Raine and rising star James Minto.

See below for the various courses for boys and girls.
