Phoebe Turner pens two-year Durham deal

Durham Cricket are delighted to announce the signing of Phoebe Turner on a two-year deal ahead of the 2025 season.

21-year-old all-rounder Turner has penned a deal in the North East until at least the conclusion of the 2026 season.

The Northallerton born cricketer has accumulated over 250 runs in addition to collecting 30 wickets from her right-arm seam bowling, enjoying a strong 2024 domestic campaign.

She claimed a career best 6/20 last summer when she ripped through the Lancashire Thunder batting line up, finishing as the Diamonds leading wicket taker in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

Turner made her senior debut in 2022 for the Diamonds with four appearances on the way to the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy triumph before earning a first professional deal at the end of that season.

On joining Durham, Turner said: “I’m so excited to be joining Durham for the next chapter in my cricketing journey. For me, this was the best opportunity to develop as a cricketer and as a person too.

“The vision and values at this club really stood out to me, and I can’t wait for the journey to begin.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be part of the clubs first professional women’s team too, and I can’t wait to make lots of memories with this group.

“The Northern Diamonds was an unreal experience, but I’m very excited to be a part of a new environment and to be working with some great players too. I’m very much looking forward to the 2025 season.”

Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “Phoebe is a hugely talented all-rounder who joins Durham on a back of a fantastic season with the Northern Diamonds.

“Her recent performances will stand her in good stead for next season and beyond, and we are delighted to bring her to Durham to give her an opportunity to develop further.”
