Filer and Heath named in England squads for South Africa tour

England Women have named their squads for the forthcoming tour to South Africa, with Durham’s Lauren Filer and Bess Heath included.

Fast bowler Lauren Filer is named in all three squads, with Bess Heath named in the T20 squad only for the three-match series.

Heather Knight’s side will contest three IT20s, three ODIs and a four-day Test match against the Proteas.

All-rounder Paige Scholfield made her senior international debut in the September bilateral series in Ireland and she is included in the T20 squad.

Freya Kemp is selected in a Test squad for the first time while batter Maia Bouchier could also earn her maiden Test cap. The four-day Test match in Bloemfontein will be first time South Africa has hosted a women’s Test match since 2002.

All-rounder Danielle Gibson misses out on the squad following an operation on her left knee meniscus injury sustained during the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match against West Indies.
