League-Based Cricket Coaching Courses
The League-Based Coaching Courses are the first stages of our annual Performance Pathway process.
The most talented young players form our cricket clubs are nominated by their coaches to attend their respective age group league course where they will be put through their paces by Durham Cricket’s team of professional coaches.
The League courses are based on the league your club seniors play their cricket and are as follows –
- Durham and North East Cricket League
- North East Premier League
- Northumberland & Tyneside Cricket League
- North Yorkshire Area Cricket Council (linked to NYSDPL)
Courses are ran at the following age groups – under-11, under-12, under-13, under-14 and under-15.
The course itself will be a mixture of skills such as, batting, bowling, fielding, fitness and game awareness.
Participants would be expecting to attend with their full cricket gear such as bats, pads, gloves etc. Cricket Whites do not need to be worn, a tracksuit and cricket top is fine. We do ask that no football attire is worn during the sessions.
Assessment Sessions
At the end of the League-Based Course those who have demonstrated the potential to progress to the County Age Group Squads, will be invited to attend an Assessment Session at the Emirates Riverside, with the goal of trying to secure a place in the County Squad.
Nominations
Once we have received all the nominations from the cricket club coaches, we will contact all the players to invite them to enroll onto the league course. Only those who have been invited to apply are able to book onto one of the league-based courses.
All bookings for the courses are now done via our online booking system to make it easier for parents and reduce the administration burden for our office.
